Indo-Russian defence co-operation key to ties: PM
Moscow, Dec 7: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for the annual summit-level talks here on Monday, Dec 7.
Speaking to a TV channel, Manmohan Singh said the defence co-operation has been a "very important aspect" in Indo-Russian ties.
"Cooperation in the field of defence has been a very important aspect of our co-operation with Russia," Singh said.
"We have been able to get equipment and technologies from Russia which were not available to us from any other countries," he noted.
Singh arrived here on Sunday, Dec 6, on a three-day visit, that will see the inking of three agreements in the field of defence, including one for ending ad-hocism in servicing Russian military equipment.
The two sides are also expected to sign a landmark framework agreement on civil nuclear cooperation.
