Narendra Modi wears jeans to Rannotsav
Rann of Kutch, Dec 7: The Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is usually seen in a khadi kurta and loose trousers made an quiet an appearance in the recent cultural fest when he was seen sporting jeans.
In what is being considered as an attempt to embody the changing image of the state, Modi reportedly wore faded denims and a polo pullover - a designer outfit in navy blue with denim patches across the chest and a grey woollen scarf around his neck to Rannotsav.
Tucking his hands in his pockets, the Chief Minister, who was wearing leather slip-ons for footwear to match the attire, walked away alone into the salt moors in a mood of introspection, reports a news agency.
When he was complimented, the Chief Minister reportedly said, "Images change," adding, "After all, there are foreign dignitaries to talk to all the time. Gujarat is a forward looking state."
Even though Modi may not be modelling for GQ like Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he is on the Rann tourism brochures, wearing grey trenchcoat talking on his cellphone in the middle of the salt desert.
He was also recently seen on television wearing a cowboy hat
