Groom posts Twitter, Facebook statuses from altar

New York, Dec 7: An American groom who took time to update his Twitter and Facebook statuses while standing at the altar has set the media abuzz.

Just before the couple were going to be pronounced man and wife, the groom Dana Hanna or TheSoftwareJedi tweeted, “Standing at the altar with @TracyPage where just a second ago, she became my wife! Gotta go, time to kiss my bride. #weddingday"

The incident which tells the tale of the extent of technological and internet addiction has become a hot topic across all spectrums of the media and is being subjected ridicule.

However, Dana has brushed these statements aside and rubbished claims that he did it to get famous.

He told CNET that he uses Facebook to stay in touch with friends and relatives across the country and that he even announced the engagement through Facebook.
