New Delhi, Dec. 6 (ANI): Legendary sitarist and composer Pandit Ravi Shankar paired with his daughter, Anoushka Shankar, to delight music lovers in Delhi with his captivating performance in the city's Nehru Park grounds.

People cutting across age assembled to hear the rare musical feat.

"This is a Spic Macay programme. I came here (to the concert) for the first time and liked the performance of Pandit Ravi Shankar. I saw their jugalbandi (musical duet) with his daughter Anoushka Shankar. I really appreciated that and I liked that performance," said Amrita, an audience.

The concert was organised with an objective to popularise the Indian classical music among youth.

"It is endeavour to take programmes like these to everybody and influence them. Nearly 20,000 have come (for concert). A nice ambience has been created (by the performance). This is a way to promote our tradition and classical music and we are trying to do that," said Kiran Seth, an associate of the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth (Spic-Macay).

Spic Macay promotes Indian classical music, dance and other aspects of culture and it has branches in over 300 towns and cities all over the world.
