Now, Vodafone slashes roaming rates

Mumbai, Dec 5: Further intensifying the price war, Vodafone Essar introduced new roaming tariff on Friday, Dec 4, under which the subscribers can chose roaming charges of either 70 paisa per minute or 1.5 paisa per second.

This comes after almost all mobile operators introduced the pay per second billing plan, which was first launched by Tata Docomo.

Airtel has already slashed its roaming charges by 60 per cent under a new Turbo plan.

The heated price war, in the world's fastest-growing wireless market, is raising serious concerns about telecom firms' profitability.
