PM will attend Copenhagen summit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has confirmed his presence in the Copenhagen Summit which will begin from Dec 7-18.

According to government spokesman, Singh will attend the summit on Dec 17 and 18 during the high level segment of the summit where leaders from 192 countries will hold talks to sort out differences and arrive at joint declaration.

US president Barack obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao are among the list of dignitaries who has confirmed their presence.

The Copenhagen summit will also be platform for discussion on finalising the date on cutting down on greenhouse gas emission in industrialized countries and transfer of green technologies, including financial aid to developed countries to deal with climate change.
