Information Ministers of States to meet in Delhi today
New Delhi, Dec 5 (ANI): The Biennial Conference of State and Union Territories Ministers of Information and Broadcasting (SIMCON) is scheduled to be held here today.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni will chair the 27th SIMCON.
On the agenda are issues related to Amendments proposed in the Press and Registration of Books Act - 1867; Measures to combat piracy of Films; Entertainment Tax Rates; Broadcasting Services Bill and Digitalisation of Cable Sector.
Various proposals made by the State Governments and UT Administrations on issues related to Information and Broadcasting would also be taken up for wider deliberations.
Concerned Ministers/Representatives of States and UTs as also industry representatives and media experts would be attending the day long conference. (ANI)
