Washington, Dec 4: A Democratic Senator has accused Pakistan of being interested only in acquiring weapons and money from US without showing any seriousness in improving strategic relationship with United States.
Stating that Pakistan has shown least consideration in promoting strategic relationship with US, Senator Robert Menendez said that US should think hard before granting aid to Pakistan.
"They want the money, they want the equipment, but at the end of the day, they don't want a relationship that costs them too much," Menendez said.
Opposing US decision to grant unconditional aid to Pakistan, he said that Pakistan should not be given unconditional aid until the country is serious about its decision to fight against terrorism.
Menendez made these statement in a hearing on Afghanistan convened by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
