HC cancels Dadri land allotted to Anil
Lucknow, Dec 4: The Allahabad High Court on Friday, Dec 4 put an end to Anil Ambani's dream of setting up a gas-based thermal power plant at Dadri in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
The court cancelled the land acquisition order given to Anil Ambani's Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL) in 2004, on the grounds that the UP government had flouted rules while granting land to RNRL, in addition to which the RNRL had taken more than the allotted measure of land.
Directing the Uttar Pradesh government to return the land to the farmers, the court said the farmers can take back their land by paying back the compensation money.
The court's order came after the farmers alleged RNRL of forceful acquisition of land.
