Baitullah assassinated Bhutto: Gilani
London, Dec.3 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud was behind former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination.
Speaking at a function organised the Pakistani community here, Gilani said he has confirm reports that Mehsud had assassinated Bhutto.
Commenting on the Kashmir issue, Gilani reiterated that peace and stability in the region could only be established by resolving the Kashmir issue 'peacefully'.
He said Islamabad wamts cordial relationship with New Delhi for which resumption of peace talks was very necessary.
"For the elimination of terrorism, regional cooperation was vital," The Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying.
Earlier, in Frankfurt, Gilani urged the Pakistani community in Germany to help strengthen the country's economy by making investments in energy, industry, housing and agriculture sectors.
Praising the contribution of Pakistanis living in Germany in strengthening the relations between both the countries, the Prime Minister pointed out that due to the efforts of 70,000 Pakistanis living in Germany, foreign remittances had increased to 100.71 million dollars during the last fiscal year (2008-09).
