Suspects in B'lore terror attack at IISc nabbed

Bangalore, Dec 2: In a significant breakthrough in 2005 Bangalore terror attack at the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were detained along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya.

Speaking about the arrest, Union Home Secretary G K Pillai said that Bangladeshi Rifles handed the militants, identified as Nazir and Shamas, to BSF following a tip-off by intelligence about their presence in Bangladesh.

The joined team of BSF and central security agencies are interrogating the two suspects for their alleged attack at IISc campus on Dec 28, 2005.

A retired IIT Delhi professor of M C Puri was killed when the duo fired indiscriminately in the campus.
