Sibal orders enquiry in the online CAT mess
New Delhi, Dec 1 (ANI): Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal has lashed out at the IIMs for a failed test and ordered a probe today into the server crash during the online Common Admission Test (CAT) examination that affected around 8,000 students.
"We have sought a detailed report on the virus problem during the CAT examination," Sibal said.
Sibal added that as per the HRD Ministry's report, out of the total 45,367 appearing candidates; 8,297 could not appear in the test.
Steps will be taken to ensure that students do not face similar technical glitches in the future and the IIMs would decide the next date of the examination, not the government said Sibal.
Tests at 47 centers were called off on the first two days on Monday, as students faced problems in logging at the exam centers.
These included centers in Delhi (3), Bhopal, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Ghaziabad, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Varanasi. (ANI)
