IAEA promted Iran to build new enriched fields

Tehran, Nov 30: Criticising IAEA, Iran vice president said that Iran's decision to build 10 enriched uranium plants was prompted by the resolution passed against it by UN nuclear watchdog.

Calling it be a strong response against the resolution of IAEA, vice president Ali Akbar Salehi said that until then Iran did not have any intention of building 10 new uranium enrichment facilities.

On Nov 27, Iran was ordered by IAEA to stop the construction of its newly revealed uranium enrichment facility following concern from US and its allies that Iran may use it to produce nuclear weapons.

Immediately after that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a cabinet meeting on Nov 29, gave his nod to the setting up of 10 industrial scale uranium enrichment facilities to produce nuclear fuel.

IAEA resolution came after Iran refused to export enriched uranium to US, France and Russia.
