RCom launches 1 paise per SMS

Mumbai, Nov 27: Reliance Communication (RCom) on Friday, Nov 27, introduced 1 paise per SMS plan.

Reliance Communication president Mahesh Prasad said, "The Anil Ambani group company has launched a plan under which 1 paise will be charged per SMS and at a monthly rental of Rs 11."

The decision comes after Telecom Minister A Raja had asked telcos need to bring down SMS rates which are currently at 50-60 paise per SMS. Other operators are likely to follow suit.
