China detects mutated version of H1N1
Beijing, Nov 27: China has confirmed detection of a mutated version of the H1N1 swine flu virus and said that this genetic mutation has been detected in eight people across the country.
This comes after Norway made a similar announcement on the discovery of the mutated version of the H1N1 virus.
However, both the countries have informed that both antiviral drugs and the H1N1 swine flu vaccines work on the newly discovered mutations.
Besides, China said that there was no proof that the mutation was causing more deaths and number of cases with the new strain remains low.
Similar cases have been reported in Hong Kong, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Ukraine and the United States.
