Belle De Jour 'misses old life as a prostitute'

London, Nov 27 (ANI): A research scientist, who unveiled herself as the anonymous sex blogger Belle de Jour, says she misses her old life as a prostitute.

Dr Brooke Magnanti, a research scientist at Bristol University worked as a high-class call girl to help fund her studies for a doctorate.

Magnanti's award-winning blog 'A Diary of a London Call Girl' in 2003 has attracted millions of readers, and was quickly turned into a book.

She has published two books and there are more in the pipeline along with a third series of the TV programme.

She revealed her true identity on a TV interview with The Book Show on Sky Arts 1 HD.

"When I first signed up to the agency, the photographer they sent to take photographs of me in lingerie for the website, she really amused me," Sky News quoted her as saying.

"I thought this might be a funny story to read so that's what really kicked it off," she added.

Magnati insists, "I miss the moment when you walk into a hotel and you instantly click on and recognise where you are going and the feeling of 'I am about to do a job - I'm about to do it well'".

She has been criticised for glamorising prostitution.

She admits she was more fortunate than most in the industry but says she wouldn't go back to it. (ANI)
