Obama's daughters force him to pardon Courage the presidential turkey

Washington, November 26 (ANI): US President Barack Obama gave into his daughters' wishes as he pardoned Courage, the 45-pound presidential turkey.

The president showed mercy after being flanked by daughters Sasha and Malia, who were the first to pet the white creature as it lay perched on a table under the White House portico.

"I was planning to eat this sucker," the Washington Times quoted Obama as saying.

The Thanksgiving pardon was said to be the first of Obama's young presidency though two of the turkey's brethren were not so lucky. (ANI)
