'Intelligence is key to ensure Security Systems'
Mumbai, Nov 26: Union Home Secretary G K Pillai has said the best way to avert terror is that there should be coherent information by single intelligence agency that processes information from various agencies.
"Out of the three actions, prevention, response and relief, the preventive action assumes greatest significance in averting terror attacks. Most of the resources should be deployed in preventing crises," Pillai said in a conference organized by CII and The EuroIndia Centre.
"Intelligence is the key to ensure sound Security Systems," he added.
He then reiterated the need to have standard operating procedures for police forces across all states.
Wim Elfrink, Chairman, CII Steering Group on Intelligent Urbanization said, "In India, there is pressing need to have adequate connectivity between all the systems."
He further said, "Disconnected systems augment the prevalence of security failures. We can begin with strengthening technology, creating public private partnerships and implementing smart regulations for building secure cities."
