JNU violence: One of the accused seeks bail
New Delhi, Nov 24: In the latest development in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) violence case, one of the four accused has filed a bail plea in the Delhi court on Nov 23, citing that most of the charges filed against him were bailable.
Representing Kapoor, advocate Sulaiman Khan argued that keeping Kapoor in jail would not be justified as he is a first time offender with no criminal background, adding that the charges of outraging modesty of woman was bailable.
The court has fixed the hearing of the plea for Nov 24.
Nitin Kapoor was arrested with three of his friends Gagan Kumar, Ankit Nanda and Amit Chauhan for allegedly molesting girls of JNU after trespassing the campus.
The accused were slapped with one day judicial custody.
