BHEL wins Rs 5,600 cr power plant contract
Allahabad, Nov 24: State-run power equipment BHEL on Tuesday, Nov 24, announced that it has won Rs 5,600 crore thremal power plant contract from an arm of Jaiprakash Associates in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the contract, BHEL would install three units with a capacity of 660 MW each of the Prayagraj Thermal Power Project in the Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
The company in a statement said, "BHEL has secured the contract from Prayagraj Power Generation Company Ltd (PPGCL), a company-owned by Jaiprakash Associates, for setting up a 1,980-MW thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh."
BHEL's scope of work under the contract would include designing, manufacturing and commissioning of turbines, generators and boilers, besides instrumentation of the systems.
