80 pc locals to be hired by Wipro for US operation
Bangalore, Nov 24: Here's some good news for job hunters, Wipro Technologies is hiring local employees for its US expansion at Atlanta, according to report on Nov 23.
"We are expanding our US operations to scale up our headcount to about 1,000 from 350 presently at our Atlanta centre of which 80 pc will be locals, including graduates from leading academic institutions in Atlanta," the company said.
Wipro chief global delivery officer Sambuddha Deb said that the local employees will assist the North American clients in healthcare, manufacturing, telecom, utilities, retail and financial services.
Welcoming Wipro on its venture with Atlanta market, Atlanta Development Authority director Charles Whatley said it welcomes the services of Wipro which has found attractive talent in the Atlanta.
