Will table Liberhan report in winter session: PC
New Delhi, Nov 23: After facing heat from the Opposition over the newspaper report revealing the details of the Liberhan Commission's findings on the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition, the Home Minister, P Chidambaram promised that the report will be tabled in the Parliament in the current winter session.
Speaking on the report which was handed over to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Jun 30, P Chidambaram said, "we are required to table it along with the action taken report within six months."
The issue resurfaced on Monday, Nov 23 when an English daily published a report on the Liberhan commission's findings on the Babri Masjid demolition. The report in The Indian Express claims that the commission has indicted top BJP leaders like LK Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Murli Manohar Joshi.
"It is unfortunate that a newspaper has published what purports to be the contents of the report," the home minister said in the Lok Sabha
Quoting sources, the newspaper report also said that the Home Minister which is doing final touches to the Action Taken Report (ATR) will be presenting it in the parliament along with the commission report soon.
