PAC supports idea of making Pak Army's financial records public
Islamabad, Nov.22 (ANI): Pakistan's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has backed the idea of making Army's financial records public.
PAC chairman Chaudhry Nisar Ali said country's armed forces 'represents a reliable institution whose financial record and monetary transactions should be made public.'
Ali blamed General Prevez Musharraf's nine year-long dictatorship for the suspicion surround the Army's financial affairs, The News reports.
Commenting on the audit report of defensive services, he said the Defense Secretary will brief the committee on improving the proposed policy on commercial use of the land in cantonment areas.
Ali said he would personally discuss issues concerning the armed forces with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. (ANI)
