MP Congress President loses cool, punches party worker

Indore, Nov. 22 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress President Suresh Pachouri allegedly pushed and punched a party worker at the Indore airport after he was mobbed by a aspirants seeking nominations for upcoming civic polls in the state.

According to sources, Pachouri had come to Indore to attend a wedding.

A soon as he arrived at the Devi Ahilyabai Airport on Saturday night, he was chased by a large number of party men seeking nominations.

Pachouri got stuck and could not come out of the airport, they added.

When he requested his partymen to let him go, they did not budge an inch, after which he lost his cool and punched a party worker, sources said.

However, Indore Congress chief Pramod Tandon denied any manhandling by the state president.

"Pachouri had neither misbehaved with any party worker nor pushed, slapped and punched anyone at the airport," Tandon said.

"Pachouri is the head of the party in Madhya Pradesh and it's his duty to control enthusiastic partymen," he added.

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh describe the incident as minor, saying it should be seen as a scolding by an elder to his children. (ANI)
