President appoints Governors for Assam, Gujarat, Tripura

New Delhi, Nov.21 (ANI): The President of India on Saturday appointed Janki Ballabh Patnaik, Dr. Kamla, and Dr. D.Y..Patil as the new Governors of Assam, Gujarat and Tripura respectively.

J.B. Patnaik replaces Syed Sibtey Razi on expiry of his term of office on Dec. 9, 2009.

Dr. (Smt.) Kamla, who has been transferred as the Governor of Tripura, has been appointed the Governor of Gujarat for the remainder of her term.

Dr. D.Y. Patil as Governor of Tripura replaces Dr. Kamla.

The appointments would be effective from the dates the incumbents assuming charge of their respective offices, a President House release stated. (ANI)
