IBN attack: Sena MP's brother is the prime accused

Mumbai, Nov 21: Accusing him of instigating the Friday, Nov 20 attack on the IBN-Lokmat office, the police has named Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut's brother Sunil Raut as the prime accused in the complaint.

"Sunil Raut has been named as a wanted accused in the complaint. He is the prime accused who allegedly instigated the mob to vandalise the office premises of the channel yesterday," deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Rajkumar Vartak told a news agency.

The police has arrested seventeen men in connection with the attack on the media office.

Vartak added that the police is also looking for seven Sena members who were present at the time of the attack.

On Friday, Nov 20, a mob claiming to be Shiv Sainiks vandalised IBN Lokmat offices in Mumbai and Pune, and assaulted journalists for making certain anti-Sena statements.
