Shiv Sena claims attacks on IBN channels
Mumbai, Nov 20: Shiv Sena claims responsiblity for the attacks on the offices of IBN 7 and IBN Lokmat citing that Sena was angered by the stand taken by IBN against Bal Thackeray in the Sachin Tendulkar issue.
Condemning the attacks, chief minister Ashok Chavan said that the culprits have been arrested and the culprits will be not allowed to get free.
"Shiv Sena is a shame on the country. Anyone who violates the law and order will be taken to tasks," he said
Asked if the government will take a cold stance once the name of a powerful figure comes up, Chavan said," Nobody is above the law and we will not hesitate to act against the guilty."
The attacks on the two channels has brought a unified condemnation from politicians across the country.
Priya Dutt, Congress MP from Mumbai said, " The incident is really shocking. Our party condemns such incidents and I will ask the government to take actions against the culprits."
Home Minister RR Patil said that the issue will not be forgotten and the government will see to it that justice is done.
