Products by jail inmates attract visitors at IITF trade fair
New Delhi, Nov 20 (ANI): Products made by jail inmates are attracting hordes of visitors in the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi.
Handicrafts, showpieces, snacks, gift items and readymade garments are some of the products in the stall of Tihar prison.
A Non-Government Organisation (NGO), which is helping the inmates, said it is trying to highlight their talent.
"There is a hidden art in jail inmates. We are highlighting their art," Niru Arya, general secretary of 'Arman' NGO, said.
Buyers and visitors feel the attempt would encourage the inmates.
" This is a very positive way for encouraging the confidence of the inmates and making them better citizen," said, Gurbeer Brar, a visitor from Punjab.
The 29th edition of the IITF was opened for the general public on Thursday.
The fortnight-long fair is organised annually by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation and provides a platform for trade promotion and helps facilitate interaction between national and international buyers. (ANI)
