More women should be associated with self-help groups: Rahul Gandhi
Amethi, Nov 20 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said here on Friday that more women should be associated with self help groups working in rural areas to make them financially strong.
Rahul was addressing women self help groups working in Argawan and Walipur villages in Gauriganj area of Amethi constituency .
He urged women to start more working groups in their villages.
Earlier, Rahul patiently listened problems of groups. Several women present in the meeting underlined need of medical facility in the area.
He also visited Food Grain Bank at Argawa village set up by members of self help groups.
In these banks members of SHGs contribute food grains for storage. Any member of the groups can borrow food grains from this bank at any time with the condition to deposit it within stipulated time. (ANI)
