Eight killed in US drone attack in North Waziristan
Islamabad, Nov.20 (ANI): At least eight persons were killed in a suspected US drone attack in North Waziristan on Friday.
According to reports, two missiles were fired from an unmanned Predator aircraft targeting a vehicle near the Mir Ali town, which is considered a den of Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.
"Eight people have been killed," The Nation quoted an intelligence official in the region, as saying.
Confirming the missile attack, a Taliban spokesperson, who declined to be identified, said the area of attack has been identified, and more details are being awaited.
"Our men are going to the site of the strike. We don't have details right now," the spokesperson said.
This was second such attack in the region this week.
Over 40 such strikes carried out by unmanned US aircrafts have killed over 100 militants in the region, which Pakistan claim is proving counterproductive in its war on terror. (ANI)
