TMC hindrance to WB industrialization: Sen

Kolkata, Nov 19: Blaming Trinamool Congress for their anti-land acquisition movement, West Bengal Industries and Commerce Minister Nirupam Sen said that the movement has hampered the growth of Industrialization in the state.

"The opposition is unfortunately creating problems in matters of land acquisition that is required for industrialisation. We are trying to sort out these problems," he said after inaugural function of Kolkata's First IT park.

Sen said that lands are being acquired in parts of Durgapur, Asansol, Purulia and Panagarh with people's consent and some of these lands have been given to industries.

The state suffered a major industrial setback when Tata Motors removed its Nano car plant in Singur following violent agitation by Trinamool Congress.
