Mahesh Bhatt knocks PM's door; family betrayed
Mumbai, Nov 19: Irked by the negative portrayal of his son by the officials and the media, film maker Mahesh Bhatt has sought the prime minister's intervention in the investigation'
In a letter written to prime minister, Manmohan Singh on Thursday, Nov 19, Bhatt expressed his anguish over the treatment meted out against his family for being honest about the whole incident.
"We woke up to a sense of great betrayal and irreversible damage. The Prime Minister should intervene and set the right example by condemning whatever happened. Otherwise such events would discourage any citizen from participating in the fight against the menace," he said.
Accusing the investigative agencies of being instrumental in the negative projection of his son, Bhatt said that the agency is leaking information to the media, which has encouraged the right wing to stop the screening of his latest movie 'Tum Mile'.
Bhatt said that he has shared security concern of family, office and upon himself with the Mumbai police.
