Fiat India to launch its first CNG-run car in 2010
Kolkata, Nov 19: Fiat India has announced its plans of launching its first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-run car in the Indian markets by 2010.
The company's president and chief executive Rajeev Kapoor told a press meet on Tuesday, Nov 17 that Fiat India's CNG-run car would be rolled out into the domestic market in the Apr-Jun quarter of 2010.
Explaining the purpose behind the launching a CNG-run car, Mr Kapoor said, "CNG is ultimately going to be a fuel for most commercial applications."
"The technology is available with Fiat," he added.
However, the official declined to divulge further details on the model.
Apart from this, the company is also working on India-specific small car scheduled to be launched in 2011.
