Kolkata, Nov 19: Fiat India has announced its plans of launching its first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-run car in the Indian markets by 2010.

The company's president and chief executive Rajeev Kapoor told a press meet on Tuesday, Nov 17 that Fiat India's CNG-run car would be rolled out into the domestic market in the Apr-Jun quarter of 2010.

Explaining the purpose behind the launching a CNG-run car, Mr Kapoor said, "CNG is ultimately going to be a fuel for most commercial applications."

"The technology is available with Fiat," he added.

However, the official declined to divulge further details on the model.
