Delhi metro girder topples, one man injured

New Delhi, Nov 19: In yet another accident at a Delhi Metro construction site, a man was injured when a metallic girder he and his friends were sitting on toppled over.

"Four-to-five men had entered the barricaded area and were sitting on the metallic girder. Due to their weight, the girder toppled over and one of them got injured on their ankle," a Metro official said.

The accident took place at the construction site of Green Park Metro station in South Delhi. The injured man was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre.

This comes after several accidents were reported from Delhi metro construction sites in which construction workers were either killed or wounded. These incidents brought the DMRC under the scanner.
