JK: Army foils infiltration bid, miltant killed

Sringar, Nov 17: Security forces foiled yet another infiltration bid from across the border by killing a militant and arresting another in Tanghdar sector of Kupwara district.

According to defence spokesman, troops guarding the Line of Control in Tangdhar noticed some heavily-armed militants sneaking in to the Indian side and asked them to surrender.

They opened fire and in the retaliatory action, one militant was killed while another was arrested, he said.

This is the third infiltration attempt by militants from across the border. Six militants and two army jawans were killed in the two previous incidents.
