Infiltrators planted IED in Jammu, tool cover in Pak
Ramgarh (Jammu and Kashmir), Nov 16 (ANI): The infiltrators responsible for planting an IED that exploded in Jammu and claimed the life of a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday, planted it on the Indian side and took cover on the Pakistani side of the international border.
Sources said, DIG O.P. Kanwar went to the spot at around 9 a.m. after hearing reports of heavy exchange of fire between the BSF and militants.
Heavily armed militants were trying to infiltrate into the Indian side from Pakistan during the night, the sources added.
As soon as they saw an officer visiting the site, the IED was detonated and Kanwar was killed on the spot.
A search operation has been launched in the region. (ANI)
