J'khand polls canvassing: Cong brings out big guns
New Delhi, Nov 14: With just days to go for the Jharkhand Assembly polls to begin, Congress is bringing out its big guns for campaigning.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Rahul Gandhi are the main campaigners, party officials said on Friday, Nov 13.
Apart from enlisting present and former chief ministers, Congress is reportedly planning on bringing in some central ministers to bolster their bid in the battleground.
40 Congress leaders including Union Ministers Pranab Mukherjee, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mukul Wasnik, Ambika Soni and Vilasrao Deshmukh will seek votes in the first phase of polling.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and party leaders Digvijay Singh, Oscar Fernandes and Ajit Jogi are also expected to campaign for the Assembly elections which will begin on Nov 27.
