Stapled visas issued by China not valid: MEA
New Delhi, Nov 13: India has made it clear that separate stapled visas issued by Chinese embassy to citizens of Jammu Kashmir will be treated as invalid for travel out of the country.
"Such paper visas stapled to the passport are not considered valid for travel out of the country," Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement here on Thursday, Nov 12.
The Ministry of Extrenal Affairs has warned the citizens should ensure with the Chinese Embassy that stapled paper visas are not being issue before making any travel arrangements to the country.
The Chinese Embassy issued separate stapled visas to some Kashmiris on a separate sheet of paper instead of passports.
The action is seen as an attempt by China to question the status of Jammu Kashmir as part of India.
