SC rejects Maya's plea on Lucknow park maintenance
New Delhi, Nov 13: Continuing its campaign to disciple Mayawati government, Supreme Court rejected the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's plea seeking permission to undertake maintenance at the Ambedkar site in Lucknow citing that there was 'no change of circumstances' to grant the relief to the state government.
The apex court bench consisting of Justices HS Bedi and JM Panchal, which took this decision on Friday, Nov 13, said that it would take up the plea when the main matter relating to the issue would come up on Nov 30.
The state government's plea urged the court to allow maintenance work at the park as thousands of people would gather there on Dec 6 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dalit leader, B R Ambedkar.
