India's industrial growth up at 9.1 pc in Sep 2009
New Delhi, Nov 12: India's industrial growth rose to 9.1 per cent in Sep 2009 against 6 per cent in the same period in 2008, official data showed on Thursday, Nov 12.
This takes total growth to 6.5 percent during the first half of this fiscal against five percent in 2008.
All the three sectors that includes manufacturing, mining and electricity showed growth in Sep 2009 over the year-ago period.
Manufacturing was up by 9.3 percent in Sep against 6.2 percent in the same month 2008.
Mining was up by 8.6 per cent compared to 5.8 per cent. Electricity generation rose 7.9 percent over 4.4 percent in the comparable period.
Even consumer durables grew by 22.2 per cent in Sep against 14.7 per cent in 2008.
