Orlando shooting: Sacked employee opens fire

Orlando, Nov 7: Just a day after the Fort Hood shootout in US shocked the world, yet another incident of shooting has been reported from Orlando. At least one person was killed and five injured when sacked employee went on a shooting spree in a US office complex here.

On Friday, Nov 6, 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez unleashed terror by opening fire at his former colleagues in the Gateway Centre in downtown Orlando, Florida and fled the scene.

However, the police were able to arrest him after tracking him down to his mother's place.

The arrest was made after the authorities received a phone call informing them on his whereabouts. When the police reached the spot, the culprit gave himself up, say media reports.

The man who worked with Reynolds, Smith & Hills was sacked two years ago over performance problems. And on Friday, Nov 6 Rodriguez went back to the office and turned his gun on his former colleagues as they left him to 'rot'.

This comes a day after the shootout in the Texas military base where a Army psychiatrist killed 12 soldiers and injured scores on Thursday, Nov 6.
