Sikh activists stop train in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, Nov 6: Sikh activists stopped Amritsar-Delhi Shatabdi Express at the Ludhiana railway station on Friday, Nov 6, in protest against the delayed justice done to the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Police said that both the officials from the railway and police department are trying to persuade the protesters to remove the blockade.
The delayed justice to victims of the 25- year-old anti-Sikh riots has been a bone of contention between the Sikh community and the government.
The All India Sikh Students Federation commemorated the ill-fated day with a protest infront of Kakardooma court where the hearing of prime accused Jagdish Tytler was scheduled on Oct 31, 2009.
