India Economic Summit to be inaugurated by PM

New Delhi, Nov 5: A three-day India Economic Summit which marks World Economic Forum's 25 years relation with India will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday, Nov 8.

Speaking about the summit, Director and Head of Asia at the World Economic Forum Sushtant Palakurthi Rao said,"This year's summit will lead to concrete recommendations for addressing key challenges such as skill development, financial empowerment of the poor and development of female talent."

The summit will include addresses from the Cabinet Ministers P Chidamabaram, Pranab Mukherjee, Anand Sharma, Kamal Nath, Murli Deora and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwahlia.

Business leaders like Chanda Kochhar (ICICI), Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo-USA), Shumeet Banerji (Booz and Company-UK), Carlos Ghosn (Renault-France, William D Green (Accenture-USA) and Baba N Kalyani (Bharat Forge) will also figure in the list of participants for the event.
