Banned Kenyan Attorney to sue US

Nairobi (Kenya), Nov 5: Amos Wako, Kenya's attorney general whose travel visa was revoked by US said on Wednesday, Nov 4, that he is considering to sue the US government.

Explaining the travel ban impose on Wako, American officials said that his visa was revoked following 13 warning letters sent to the Kenyan officials by US, for failing to act against perpetrators of post-election violence in Kenya in 2007.

However Wako said that as attorney general he can only prosecute the cases presented to him and cannot be involved in investigating crimes.

Speaking about his decision Wako said, "In view of the reasons given, which are defamatory, it is my intention to seek legal advice with a view of instituting legal proceedings."

The 2007 post presidential election triggered an explosion of violence which claimed more than 275 lives.
