Pak-born double rapist escapes from High Commission in UK
London, Nov.4 (ANI): A Pakistani-born double rapist escaped from the Pakistan High Commission just 90 seconds after arriving there on Tuesday.
High Commission staff said Imtiaz Hussain, 44, walked into the building without handcuffs and with one security guard. He thereafter gave the officer the slip after saying he wanted to use the toilet.
The Daily Express quoted Consul General Nafees Zakaria, as saying that British officials had failed to inform them about Hussain's arrival at the diplomatic mission.
He said: "This happened because of the incompetence and slackness on the part of immigration officials. He simply ran away. I saw the CCTV recording. It showed they entered at one point. It took him one minute and 30 seconds to come out again."
Police have been hunting Hussain since he fled the west London building last Friday. He was last seen running across Sloane Square at 2.30 p.m.
Hussain was brought to the High Commission to obtain a passport so he could be deported at the end of a nine-year prison sentence for raping two women at knifepoint in Derbyshire. (ANI)
