Pak generals plot to oust Zardari: US think tank

Washington, Nov 4: The fear of being ousted and the assumption of US favoring civilian government has led the Pakistan military generals to hatch a plan to dislodge Zardari in a subtle way.

It has been reported that the growing Obama-Zardari relation has instilled a fear among the military generals that the alignment could lead to their powers being curtailed.At the same time, the generals assume that President Zardari may use his presidential power to recruit generals of his choice.

Taking all this factors into consideration, US think tank, Stratfor has said,"The goal is thus not to unseat the current government, but to get rid of Zardari in such a way that looks like the byproduct of a constitutional process rather than of a coup."
