Gandhidham Exp derails in Maha, 12 hurt
Thane, Nov 4: At least 12 passengers were injured when 11 coaches of the Gandhidham-Bangalore Express derailed near Dombivilli here on Wednesday, Nov 4, a railway official said.
Of the 11 coaches that derailed, at least two overturned and got badly damaged in the incident.
"The incident occurred around 2 am near Dombivli on the single-line Vasai-Diva section which links the Western Railway and Central Railway," said an official of the railway control room.
All the passengers, most of whom were sleeping at the time of the accident, had a miraculous escape.
Relief and rescue teams were rushed to the scene of the accident and work on restoration of the railway traffic has started.
Another train was sent to the incident site and the passengers of Gandhidham Express were shifted into it, the official added.
