Another SC judge withdraws from Ambani case

New Delhi, Nov 4: Just hours after Supreme Court Judge RV Raveendran excused himself out of the Ambani Vs Ambani case hearing, another SC judge Justice Markandey Katju withdrew from a dispute between Mukesh Ambani group firm Reliance Industries Ltd and BPCL, citing conflict of interest.

Katju withdrew from the case on Wednesday, Nov 4 saying that his wife held RIL shares.

RIL and BPCL are fighting over price differences in naptha supplied by state-run company to RIL plant in Raigad.

Earlier Justice RV Raveendran, who was a part of the three-judge Bench hearing the ongoing gas dispute between the Mukesh Ambani-led RIL and Anil Ambani-led RNRL, withdrew from the case citing that his daughter Sunitha Rajesh is a partner with Mumbai-based solicitors firm which is advising RIL in global acquisition matters.
