L&T wins Rs 6,897cr order from Mahagenco

Mumbai, Nov 3: Larsen & Toubro on Tuesday, Nov 2 announced that it has won an order worth Rs 6,897 crore from Maharashtra State Power Generation (Mahagenco) for manufacturing turbine generator.

"The firm has received the order for manufacturing 3x 660 MW super-critical turbine generator units," L&T said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, commissioning of super-critical boilers and civil and architectural work," the firm added.

According to the firm, the Rs 6,897 crore order from Maharashtra State Power Generation follows a Rs 4,000 crore order received weeks earlier from Jaypee Industries.
