Raj Thackeray wants MLAs to take oath in Marathi

Mumbai, Nov 2: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray has demanded that all the MLAs in the newly elected legislative assembly must take oath 'only in Marathi' or face the wrath of his party members.

"The House will witness what my MLAs will do if anyone dares take oath in other language," Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief said on Monday, Nov 2.

"In Karnataka, a Marathi-speaking MLA was expelled from the House as he could not speak in Kannada. Will our legislators show the same attitude about Marathi," Raj said.

In the recently concluded 2009 Maharashtra Assembly Polls, Raj Thackeray's party which is based on the 'Marathi manoos' agenda won 13 seats in the 288-member legislative.
